MemberBridge

For creators with paying members: a self-serve path to move them off Patreon, Gumroad or Substack onto their own Stripe, flat fee, no sales call.

In plain English

What category is this?
Companies buy to handle money and rules — payments, accounting, tax, audits. Here the focus is creator economy.
The idea, briefly

Build a self-serve service for creators with live paid memberships that imports members from Patreon, Gumroad, Substack, Stan Store or similar, re-establishes their subscriptions on the creator's own Stripe without a sales call or demo, and keeps a portable member mirror so the next move is a click. Caveat: no source demonstrates that live subscriptions can be re-billed without double-charging across these platforms, and the one source on live subscriptions says members must re-approve the new payment; the move is the hypothesis the verdict tests.

What buyers expect

People comparing tools like Patreon, Memberful, Memberstack expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: A competitor blog (Crevio) writes: 'Migration is miserable on most platforms. Moving customers, subscriptions, and product history from one tool to another is painful on every platform that doesn't expose a real API.' This is vendor marketing content, not a creator complaint, and it is not specific to paid-membership migration; the; and crevio's FAQ answers: 'Can I move my Stan Store customers to a new platform? Partially. You can export customer email lists from Stan Store and import them into most alternatives. Active subscriptions are harder. You'll typically need to re-prompt subscribers to approve the new payment.'.

Market heat

  • Patreon's own pricing page states it charges '10% of the income you earn on Patreon' plus payment processing, currency conversion and payout fees.

  • Memberful's pricing page lists '$49 / month + 4.9% transaction fee' for its Standard plan.

  • Apple set a November 1, 2026 deadline for Patreon creators to move to iOS in-app purchase, takes 30% (15% after a year), and Patreon patrons can only dodge the commission by paying on the website.

  • Ghost(Pro)'s pricing page displays 'Last week, 29,074 brand new publications got started with Ghost.' (company-reported; a new-publication count, not evidence that paid-membership creators will pay to migrate).

Should you build this?

This is for creators who already earn from paid members but stay on a platform they dislike because switching would break their live subscriptions. The offer is a self-serve move to your own billing, for a flat fee, with no sales call, plus a member list you can take anywhere next time. The hard part is re-billing live subscriptions without losing people, and no source proves that can be done cleanly across these platforms; the one source on live subscriptions says members typically have to re-approve the new payment, and the flat fee is additive to whatever destination hosts the gated content and billing. Do not assume it works.
