Own-Watch Pacing Coach

A software-only pacing companion for ME/CFS and long COVID that aims to use the smartwatch or phone you already own, with no proprietary band.

In plain English

What category is this?
Clinics, coaches, and consumers buy for care, fitness, or wellbeing workflows. Here the focus is consumer health.
The idea, briefly

Build a software-only pacing companion that aims to turn the smartwatch or phone the patient already owns into a daily energy budget and over-exertion nudge, logs exertion in a few taps with real timestamps, and adds a sleep-quality view that Visible's own FAQ says it does not offer (source 2, noting Visible's Sep 2026 overnight Stability Score update, source 4) - no proprietary band. Caveat: the software-only, wearable-agnostic wedge is NOT open. Elara (free, wearable-agnostic), Trackuility (free) and Pacely (free planning / EUR 5/mo Pro, no wearable) already occupy it (sources 7 and 15), and Visible already ships long-term health reports and a linkable clinician dashboard. The only potentially open ground is Visible's refusal of Apple Watch/Fitbit/Garmin plus its US/UK-only membership, and neither the sleep view nor real-time third-party-watch pacing is proven to work or to drive purchase; the opened FAQ argues third-party watches sample HR too slowly to warn in time.

What buyers expect

People comparing tools like Visible, Bearable, blue-ME expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: Visible refuses to work with the watches people already own; and visible membership is US/UK only - 'Currently, the Visible membership is only available in US and UK' - leaving every other country without the paid product even though the illness is global.

Should you build this?

People living with ME/CFS, long COVID, POTS and fibromyalgia do pay to pace: Visible reports 100,000+ members and its Play listing 'over 250,000+ people', and Bearable reports 2M users - all company-reported and unaudited, so treat demand as indicated, not proven. The paid leader pushes a proprietary band on top of a membership even though it refuses the Apple Watch, Fitbit or Garmin the buyer already owns (source 2, opened). The serious problems: the software-only, wearable-agnostic wedge is already occupied, not open - Elara and Trackuility are free and wearable-agnostic, and Pacely already sells a no-wearable pacing app with free planning and EUR 5/mo Pro plus a free care-provider view - Visible already ships doctor reports and a clinician dashboard, the sleep gap is narrowing because Visible's Sep 2026 update added an overnight Stability Score, and the price and complaint evidence for Visible is largely snippet-only. The only arguably open ground is Visible's refusal of Apple Watch/Fitbit/Garmin combined with its US/UK-only membership.
