Keep-Forever Blood Pressure Log
A buy-once blood pressure journal for people with high blood pressure: unlimited history, a doctor-ready report, no subscription, no ads.
In plain English
- What category is this?
- Clinics, coaches, and consumers buy for care, fitness, or wellbeing workflows. Here the focus is consumer health.
- The idea, briefly
Build one app that owns the whole home-BP job without a meter running: log cuff readings (type them or snap the monitor screen), keep unlimited history forever on the device, print a one-tap doctor-ready PDF and CSV, include household profiles for an older parent at no extra charge, and set large-type readability as the default. Sold as a one-time purchase or a flat low annual with no ads ever — the opposite of the two-week-history, ad-after-payment incumbents.
More ▾- What buyers expect
People comparing tools like SmartBP (Evolve Medical Systems), Blood Pressure Tracker • (BP Log, App Sub 1 LLC), Free Blood Pressure™ App expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: An earlier version gated your own history, so the free tier dropped the record the app exists to keep; and people who pay still get ads.

What customers complain about
7| Gap | Src |
|---|---|
An earlier version gated your own history, so the free tier dropped the record the app exists to keep. | |
People who pay still get ads. | |
Doctor hand-off is broken because exports don't match how clinics actually take data. | |
Apple Health's own export is unusable as a doctor report. | |
The core audience is older and the app is hard to read. | |
Household and caregiver use is an after-the-fact paywall. | |
The category is full of camera-measurement marketing that the apps cannot deliver, which erodes trust. |

Should you build this?
If the reviewers' complaints generalize, people who check their blood pressure at home would pay a small amount for an app that simply keeps their readings forever and hands the doctor a clean report. The big apps here charge $8.99-14.99 a month or $39.99 a year and reviewers say they have locked history or kept showing ads after payment, and reviewers say plainly they want to pay once and keep their own data; a solo developer has already reached $229 a month on nothing but App Store search. It is not guaranteed: Apple Health and the free Omron and Withings apps cover basic logging, so the buy-once app has to be clearly better at exporting, readability for older eyes, and household profiles. Prove it before building: find 20 people in r/bloodpressure or r/hypertension who already log their pressure, ask each to show their current app and its last export, and take paid pre-orders at $14.99 once or $19.99 a year. Kill it if fewer than 5 of 20 pre-pay, or if most say the free Apple Health or Omron app is already enough.
