What buyers expect

People comparing tools like Caring Village, Sagebeam, Lotsa Helping Hands expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: Cross-household coordination decays into scattered texts and a generic calendar. r/CaregiverSupport thread: an adult child tracking a parent's appointments, meds and daily tasks with siblings wrote that everything 'ends up scattered between texts and calendars' and 'Google Calendar feels too generic,' and asked for 'an app made specifically for families to coordinate care and reminders in one place.'; and medication and appointment slips cause concrete real-world waste. r/Alzheimers thread: a caregiver wrote that in one week 'my mom forgot to take her meds, my sister didn't know about the doctor's appointment, and somehow we ended up with three grocery runs,' and that the 'family group chat plus random sticky notes everywhere' approach 'isn't cutting it anymore.'.

Should you build this?

Adult children pay, and the job is one shared place for a parent's meds, appointments, notes and tasks when several people help. Caregivers keep asking for exactly this in r/CaregiverSupport, r/Alzheimers, r/AgingParents and r/AskUK: their days get lost between group texts, a generic Google Calendar and WhatsApp, and doctor-visit details evaporate. That is real, repeated demand, but it is forum talk, not proof anyone will pay. Two paid apps already charge for it: Caring Village at $14.99-$24.99 a month and Sagebeam at $19 a month, and Caring Village already owns the 'ask the subreddit' recommendation slot, so a newcomer has to win on a flat price and multi-person handoffs. The hard part stands: free tools (Caring Village Free, Sagebeam Free, Lotsa Helping Hands, a plain shared calendar) already cover the basics, so a new flat plan must be cheap and clearly better at the handoffs. It is not guaranteed to work.
