Flat-Rate Agency Local Rank Tracking

White-label geo-grid and local rank tracking for agencies: one flat price per account, unlimited client locations, scans included, no credits or API key.

Founder thesis

Local agencies get billed by credits, per-location ladders, or their own DataForSEO key, and those meters strain as clients multiply. I am betting a flat per-agency price with scan data absorbed wins the small agency that scans many clients weekly. Why now: wholesale Maps SERP data costs $0.0006 per standard-queue page, so the metered margin incumbents charge is running far ahead of the underlying cost.

What others got wrong

  • BrightLocal still bills by location. Its help center prices Grow at $65/mo for one location and $494/mo at 41-50, up to $989/mo at 91-100, even while the public pricing page hides those prices as 'Price on request' under a 'BEST VALUE, ALWAYS TRANSPARENT' headline.

  • Local Falcon sells credits that expire at the end of each billing month on monthly plans, and its FAQ keeps a standing answer for customers who keep running out.

  • EmbedMyReviews absorbs no scan cost. Its flat $99/mo plan makes the agency bring its own DataForSEO key and pay that bill directly.

  • The cheap entry is still metered. GMB Radar's $15/mo buys 5,000 credits that reset each billing cycle, so heavy scanners pay again.

What should work

  • Absorb the scan cost. DataForSEO sells Google Maps SERP pages at $0.0006 standard, $0.0012 priority and $0.002 live, so a 20-client, 5-keyword weekly 7x7 workload is about 21,200 pages a month, roughly $12.73 standard or $42.43 live, which supports a flat $39-49/mo plan.

  • Sell drop alerts, not just grids. An agency can catch a map-pack fall without a person opening grids by hand every week.

  • Deliver client reports during client business hours, so the snapshot reflects the morning map pack instead of firing overnight.

  • Keep it boring and agency-specific: unlimited locations, white-label, weekly delivery. Flat unlimited already exists at EmbedMyReviews, so the combination with alerting is the actual product.

What kills it

  • Flat unlimited is already sold: EmbedMyReviews offers $99/mo for unlimited clients, locations and scans with white-label.
  • Cheap entry is already sold: GMB Radar gives 300 free credits and 5,000 credits for $15/mo.
  • A promise of unlimited live scans would not survive the $0.002 per live SERP page rate.
  • Every load-bearing user complaint here is secondhand: G2 returned HTTP 403 and Reddit served a JS challenge, so the pain is unverified.

What users want

4
  • Scans that do not run out mid-month

Local Falcon users say the credit system 'can feel limiting, especially for frequent scans,' per G2 review text that surfaced in search; the G2 page would not load directly, so this is secondhand.

  • One predictable price with no separate citation bill

A G2 reviewer, Adam J. (2026-01-14), wrote 'little high price for the full tool and adding extra for citation building'; that text surfaced in search only, G2 returned HTTP 403, unverified.

  • Client reports delivered during client business hours

An r/SEO poster is 'sick of' BrightLocal reports that keep pulling 'outside of my clients' business hours'; Reddit served a JS challenge, so the quote is unconfirmed.

  • Rank-drop alerts so grids do not need manual checking

An r/localseo commenter said Local Falcon needs periodic manual checks and 'that makes it tougher to scale'; Reddit served a JS challenge, so the quote is unconfirmed.

Local Falcon's own FAQ treats running out of credits as routine and says monthly credits expire each billing month, with only an annual package stopping the expiry. An agency on the $24.99 Starter tier running weekly 7x7 grids (49 credits each) across several clients can drain 7,500 credits before month end, then must auto-recharge, upgrade or commit annually. The vendor documents this; no user complaint about it turned up.
G2 review text says Local Falcon's 'credit system can feel limiting, especially for frequent scans.' That points at an agency scanning many clients weekly rather than a few. The G2 page returned HTTP 403, so this is secondhand and unverified.
An r/SEO poster wrote they are 'sick of' BrightLocal's scheduled reports 'ALWAYS pulling at the wrong time, often outside of my clients' business hours.' That means a weekly report can fire overnight and miss the morning map pack. Reddit served a JS challenge, so the body could not be confirmed.
A G2 reviewer, Adam J. (2026-01-14), called out 'little high price for the full tool and adding extra for citation building,' and the same review index carries tags for Extra Costs, Expensive, Complex Interface and Difficult Navigation. An agency buying the suite finds citations billed separately at about $2-$3.20 each, so the real bill beats the quote. G2 returned HTTP 403; unverified.
An r/localseo commenter said Local Falcon needs periodic manual checks to update clients, which 'makes it tougher to scale but great for boutique shops.' A 30-client agency has no automatic drop alert, so someone opens grids weekly to catch a fall. Reddit served a JS challenge; unverified.

Your angle & pricing wedge

AngleA flat per-agency geo-grid and local-visibility tracker with unlimited client locations and scan data included, no credits, per-location ladder or BYOK key, plus white-label reports, scheduled weekly delivery and drop alerts when a map-pack rank falls. Flat unlimited already exists at EmbedMyReviews ($99/mo), cheap entry at GMB Radar ($15/mo), and agent/MCP access and white-label already ship from Local Falcon and BrightLocal, so this is an execution bet, not a new capability.
WedgeBill the agency flat with scan data absorbed instead of metering credits, per-location ladders or a BYOK key. DataForSEO sells the same Maps SERP data at $0.0006 standard, $0.0012 priority and $0.002 live, so a 20-client, 5-keyword weekly 7x7 workload is about 21,200 pages a month, roughly $12.73 standard to $42.43 live, which lets a flat $39-49/mo plan sit under BrightLocal's mid-tier ladder, though EmbedMyReviews already sells flat $99/mo and GMB Radar sells 5,000 credits for $15/mo.

BrightLocal gives away three free local SEO tools (Local SERP Checker, Rank Fluctuation Monitor, Google Review Link Generator) plus a free Academy and an annual Local Consumer Review Survey.BrightLocal's free-tools page states 'Join 83,000+ savvy marketers' and '15,000+ Happy Customers Based on 1,627 Reviews'; that the free tools and survey feed the 14-day trial is a guess, since no source ties a tool to a conversion number.brightlocal.com✓
Local Falcon seeds adoption with 100 free credits, an affiliate program, a first-party MCP server and Claude Connector, and an llms.txt written for AI assistants. Its pricing page and llms.txt advertise 100 free credits and 'serves over 100,000 agencies'; free credits and readable docs likely cut trial friction, but no metric ties the MCP or llms.txt to signups, and the 100,000 figure probably mixes free and paid users.localfalcon.com✓
Low-end entrants attack on price: GMB Radar offers a free 300-credit tier with white-label reports on paid plans, and EmbedMyReviews sells flat $99/mo unlimited locations via a DataForSEO key. Both vendors' pricing pages show it, GMB Radar with a free tier and $15-$100/mo credits and EmbedMyReviews at $99/mo unlimited; freemium and flat pricing are the small-team wedge against per-location and credit incumbents, though neither publishes a conversion number, so causation is unproven.gmbradar.com✓

Market heat

  • BrightLocal reports '15,000+ Happy Customers Based on 1,627 Reviews' and 'Join 83,000+ savvy marketers' on its own pages, which points to a large incumbent that monetizes.

    More ▾
  • Local Falcon's own llms.txt claims it 'serves over 100,000 agencies, enterprise organizations, and multi-location businesses worldwide' and is 'rated 4.7/5 on G2 from 71 verified reviews,' both company-reported and unaudited.

    More ▾
  • New entrants hit the price axis directly: GMB Radar offers a free 300-credit tier and sells 5,000 credits for $15/mo, with white-label reporting on its Professional and Premium plans.

    More ▾
  • EmbedMyReviews sells a flat $99/mo unlimited clients, locations and scans plan with full white-label output via a DataForSEO key.

  • A competing vendor's buyer's guide says BrightLocal's platform pricing is no longer published, 'you have to request a quote,' and that Local Falcon's 'credit-based pricing on heavy use adds up.'

Local Falcon reports 'over 100,000 agencies, enterprise organizations, and multi-location businesses' and '4.7/5 on G2 from 71 verified reviews' in its own llms.txt, company marketing rather than audited revenue. A G2 seller-page search result suggests a higher review count, but the G2 page returned HTTP 403.

Self-serve pricing across the category runs from BrightLocal Grow $65/mo for one location to $989/mo at 91-100, Local Falcon $24.99-$199.99/mo in expiring credits, GMB Radar $15-$100/mo in expiring credits, and EmbedMyReviews a flat $99/mo plus DataForSEO usage. Whether a $39-49/mo flat plan with scans included is profitable depends on how much runs on the priority or live queues.
help.brightlocal.com✓
Cost structure: DataForSEO's Google Maps SERP API is $0.0006 per page standard, $0.0012 priority and $0.002 live. A 20-client, 5-keyword, weekly 7x7 workload is about 21,200 pages a month, roughly $12.73 standard, $25.45 priority or $42.43 live. That makes a flat plan possible; the arithmetic is mine, not a vendor promise.

Should you build this?

This category monetizes and its pricing is visibly strained, but the wedge is contested and every real user complaint I found came through search-result text I could not confirm, since G2 returned HTTP 403 and Reddit served a JS challenge. The structural case holds: BrightLocal's help center prices Grow at $494/mo for 41-50 locations and $989/mo at 91-100 while its public pricing page says 'Price on request' under a 'BEST VALUE, ALWAYS TRANSPARENT' headline, and Local Falcon's FAQ admits monthly credits expire and customers run out. The honest problem is that flat and cheap already exist, with EmbedMyReviews selling flat $99/mo unlimited with white-label via a BYOK DataForSEO key and GMB Radar giving 300 free credits and 5,000 for $15/mo. The only grounded edge is cost math, DataForSEO at $0.0006 per standard-queue page makes a scans-included plan possible, and the product has to win on agency workflow, drop alerts plus client-ready scheduled delivery, not price alone. Test first: recruit 20 agencies running at least 10 client Google Business Profile locations, have each show last month's real spend and usage plus one surprise overage, expired-credit loss or missed rank drop caught by hand, then offer a $39/mo flat pre-order; kill it if fewer than 6 of 20 pre-pay, if more than half already happily run a flat unlimited tool like EmbedMyReviews, or if fewer than 8 can show a real incident.
