What buyers expect

People comparing tools like CommentSold, SoldLive, LiveMeUp expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: CommentSold charges commission on refunded orders and does not return it, so a return that is later resold is charged commission twice. The request was first posted 12 July 2018 (about eight years before this review), carries 426 votes, and is still marked 'planned' (not 'won't fix'); the thread's latest user activity is December 2021, so current 2026 behavior is unverified; and sellers say the monthly fee is high and cancellations and refunds are hard (small sample: 1.0 from 3 PissedConsumer reviews).

Flat-fee competitor SoldLive meters live-sale orders, so a frequent seller climbs from $35 to $600, $1,500 and $3,000 a month. The prices are documented on SoldLive's own pages;

Should you build this?

Who pays: boutique and community sellers - often one or two people running weekly Facebook, Instagram or TikTok Live shows - who use a platform to turn comments into paid orders. The job: take the order, invoice the buyer, keep the customer, and know what they made after fees, without a percentage of every sale walking out the door. The money is already here: CommentSold sells plans from $149 to $999 a month plus 4-6% of sales, and the Whatnot marketplace takes about 11% all-in. The sharpest opening is that CommentSold's most-voted refund request (426 votes, first posted 12 July 2018 and still marked 'planned', with the latest user activity in December 2021) reports that commission is kept on refunded orders, so a return that is later resold is charged twice; current 2026 behavior is unverified and must be confirmed before this wedge is trusted. A flat-fee, zero-commission tool with checkout on the seller's own Shopify store would fix that while costing a fraction of a commission at real volume. The risk is that flat, no-commission products already exist (SoldLive from $35 a month), the low end is nearly free, and LiveMeUp gives away 30 streaming minutes a month, so only sellers doing roughly 150+ live orders a month feel enough savings to switch. This is not guaranteed to work. Validate it before building: find 20 boutiques that run at least four live shows a month on CommentSold or SoldLive and issued at least five refunds last quarter; pull their last two platform invoices and their refund counts; confirm with each whether their current platform actually keeps commission or charges per-order fees on refunds; price the same volume at a flat $99 a month with no commission and no fee on refunds; then ask for a paid three-month pre-order. Kill it if fewer than 5 of the 20 pre-pay, if the median monthly saving is under $50, if most already use a flat no-commission tool and are happy with it, or if the refund-commission behavior has already been fixed.
