Own-Stripe Flat-Rate Chat Community Membership

Membership access for paid Discord, Telegram, Slack and WhatsApp groups: one flat price for unlimited communities, no per-community fee and no platform cut.

In plain English

What category is this?
Companies buy to handle money and rules — payments, accounting, tax, audits. Here the focus is creator monetization.
The idea, briefly

Build one flat account price for unlimited paid Discord, Telegram, Slack and WhatsApp communities with 0% platform cut, running on the creator's own Stripe. Honest caveat: own-Stripe settlement is NOT unique - LaunchPass already processes on the creator's own Stripe (members' subscriptions continue in the creator's Stripe after cancellation; sources 2 and 3) and HopMembers already sells a flat $29/month, 0%-fee, own-Stripe offer for Telegram/Discord/WhatsApp. The only clearly unoccupied pieces are charging one account price for unlimited communities and first-class Slack automation with a one-click importer/export; HopMembers' per-account versus per-community scope is not documented and must be verified.

What buyers expect

People comparing tools like LaunchPass, Whop, HopMembers expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: Small creators say the monthly fee plus a percentage 'double-charges' them; and launchPass bills per community, so multi-community creators pay a fixed fee for each one.

Market heat

  • LaunchPass advertises that it manages 1,000,000+ members for its customers and shows a 50% partner/affiliate program on its paid-Discord page.

  • Whop's payout article states Whop has paid out over 2 billion dollars to creators.

  • Whop's pricing page carries a banner announcing a $200M Series C and a $200M strategic investment from Tether.

  • By the end of 2022, LaunchPass said it was servicing thousands of communities across language tutors, influencers, YouTube creators and finance-advice groups (snippet-only; plaintiff's litigation filing in SlackPass, Inc. d/b/a LaunchPass v. Should you build this?

The price pain is concrete: LaunchPass charges $29 a month for every community plus 3.5% of sales, its own help pages say a second community costs another $29 and that dropping to the free plan charges new signups 12.5%, and the vendor's own math puts the total at about 6.4% + $0.30. Creators clearly pay to charge for private chat groups: LaunchPass reports managing 1,000,000+ members and Whop reports paying out over $2 billion to creators. The catch is that this is not an empty market: HopMembers already sells a $29-a-month, 0%-fee access bot for Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp on the creator's own Stripe, and LaunchPass already runs on the creator's own Stripe too, so a flat, own-Stripe offer is not new. The only clearly unoccupied pieces are unlimited communities on one account and Slack automation, and HopMembers' per-account scope is unverified.
