One flat yearly price that turns months of scattered IEP notes into a plain-English brief of what changed and what to raise.
In plain English
- What category is this?
- Schools, tutors, and learners buy for courses, training, or study tools.
- The idea, briefly
Upload the current IEP or 504, evaluation reports, quarterly progress reports and your own running notes, and get one dated, printable brief before every meeting: what changed since last time, which services or accommodations look off track, and the exact questions and parent-input letter to bring - under one flat yearly family price with unlimited analysis and a private, no-training data stance.
More ▾- What buyers expect
People comparing tools like Undivided, Pocket IEP, My IEP Hero expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: Storing records is not the hard part; making sense of them before the meeting is. A parent of a child with ADHD describes saving months of notes and reviews, then being unable to use them in the meeting: 'It made me wonder if I've been solving the wrong problem for my kiddo. I don't need a better way to save everything. I need a better way to understand what I've been saving.' Caveat: this quote comes from a Reddit page that returned no body on fetch, so it is stated as an unverified complaint, not a documented fact; and records are scattered across phone notes, teacher emails and documents, so parents are blindsided in meetings. A father of a four-year-old with Down syndrome and two children with ADHD writes: 'I feel like every time we get close to a meeting, everything is scattered. Then we sit down in the meeting and I know there were things we meant to bring up. but they're just gone.' Caveat: this quote also comes from a Reddit page that returned no body on fetch and is stated as an unverified complaint, not a documented fact.

Market heat
Undivided sells a $19/month membership whose headline feature is an 'AI-powered IEP & 504 Assistant: flag what's missing before your next meeting,' and the page says its families unlock $63K a year in benefits (company-reported).
More ▾IEP Champion sells a fully on-device app for a $4.99 one-time purchase, proving a below-subscription price point exists in this category.
IEP Guide caps its IEP Assistant at 30 questions/month on the $4.99/month Base plan and 50 questions/month on the $9.99/month Plus plan, so even the cheap end meters analysis.
More ▾My IEP Hero gives 3 AI IEP analyses total on its free tier and charges $29/month or $99/month to raise the limit to 3 analyses/month and unlimited respectively.
More ▾IEP Compass's own App Store page recommends a further ten parent-side IEP apps (IEPAssist, Ready Binder, IEP Proof, IEP Copilot, IEP Hero, Let's Talk IEP, Slingshot IEP, BrightPath, IEP Hub, SpedPro), showing how many solo builders entered in 2026.
More ▾Expert IEP launched in 2021, has raised nearly $2M, and is reported to serve thousands of families; a $1M of that came from Pharrell Williams' Black Ambition Prize in 2023 (third-party report, opened).

Should you build this?
Parents of the roughly seven million US children with an IEP, plus the millions more on 504 plans, are already paying for help before a school meeting: Undivided sells memberships from $19/month plus $49-99/month for human Navigator support, and Expert IEP has raised close to $2 million since 2021. The job they are paying for is real and told in their own words, though the most quoted parent complaint ('I don't need a better way to save everything' but 'a better way to understand what I've been saving') is snippet-only and not independently verified. The serious risk is crowding: a dozen parent-side IEP apps launched in 2026, a $4.99 once, fully on-device app already exists, and a $4.99/month plan already promises a 'since last meeting' report, so this is not a blue ocean and it is not guaranteed to work. The narrow opening is a flat, low yearly price for unlimited analysis, aimed at the parents who either cannot afford $29-99/month or refuse to upload their child's disability records to a cloud - and the on-device tools that do protect privacy either skip AI (IEPDesk) or do not offer an unlimited yearly analysis brief, which is the specific gap this idea targets.
