Flat-Rate Context-Aware Biomarker Coach

For people who already have blood-test results: a flat-rate app that ranks what to fix first and tracks each retest.

In plain English

What category is this?
Clinics, coaches, and consumers buy for care, fitness, or wellbeing workflows. Here the focus is consumer health.
The idea, briefly

Build a flat-rate ($60/year or $8/month) plan you can use with labs you already have from any source. It takes your medical history, medications, age/sex and wearables into account, ranks the two or three highest-leverage changes to make now instead of listing 100 markers, and runs a retest loop that shows which change moved which marker. No test or blood draw is bundled or required.

What buyers expect

People comparing tools like Function Health, InsideTracker, Superpower expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: The premium product's 'clinician review' adds no prioritization or roadmap; and the plan ignores the member's actual medical history.

GapSrc
The premium product's 'clinician review' adds no prioritization or roadmap.
The plan ignores the member's actual medical history.
Elevated markers are punted back to the user with a 'see your doctor' message rather than an action.
Even the longest-running interpretation product gives blanket advice.
Users are left overwhelmed and unable to convert numbers into daily behavior.
Buyers pay a second vendor to get the interpretation the clinic failed to provide, and object to the bundle price.

Market heat

  • Function Health reports more than 500,000 members and over 100 million lab tests completed as of mid-2026, alongside a $450M General Catalyst non-dilutive growth financing. Company-stated and relayed by a secondary aggregator; not independently audited. Note: this 100M-test figure conflicts with the 50M-test figure in Function's own November 2025 announcement and the 75M 'results' figure on its pricing page.

  • Function's launch announcement reported nearly 50,000 paying members and a waitlist of over 200,000 at $499/year in mid-2024 (company press release).

Should you build this?

People already pay for blood tests and then cannot tell what to do with the results, so People already pay for this: Function Health charges $365 a year and reports over 500,000 members (company-stated, source 21), Superpower charges $349, and InsideTracker charges $149 a year just to read labs you already own. Paying customers say the plan is a generic recap that ignores their medical history and never tells them what to do first, but only the first such gap (source 7, opened) is fully verified; the remaining complaint sources are snippet-only Reddit threads and are treated as interpreted, not fact. This product sells only that missing piece as a flat $60-a-year app: rank the two or three changes that matter for you and show, at each retest, which one moved which marker. The risk is crowding, not demand: Sage gives interpretation away free and Levels bundles unlimited bloodwork upload into an $80 app, so the offer must win on sharper prioritization and a real retest loop rather than on being cheapest.
