Clinic-Free GLP-1 Companion

For people outside the US on Ozempic, Wegovy or compounded GLP-1: shot, side-effect and protein tracking with a doctor-ready report — free to start, month-to-month.

In plain English

What category is this?
Clinics, coaches, and consumers buy for care, fitness, or wellbeing workflows. Here the focus is consumer health subscription.
The idea, briefly

Build a clinic-independent GLP-1 companion with a real free tier, flat month-to-month pricing with no weekly-only lock-in, a food database that works outside the US, cross-device sync, and one-tap export of shots, side effects and protein as a prescriber-ready report.

What buyers expect

People comparing tools like GLiPra, StrideFuel, EverStrong expect the basics to work without surprise fees or missing pieces. The loud complaints are: You must create an account and answer health questions before any price is shown, so you cannot judge the app without paying. A MeAgain reviewer; and there is no free tier and no monthly plan, only weekly and yearly, which blocks people on expensive compounded medication who are unsure how long they will stay on it. A reviewer.

Users on GLP-1s say the apps feel like generic weight-loss trackers with a medication field added, and that side-effect tracking is missing or overly complicated.
Billing and refund practices generate one-star reviews and chargebacks. App Store reviews for a rival GLP-1 diet app (GLP Diet) describe multiple upsell offers before and after pu…

Market heat

  • Glapp reports 100,000+ users and a 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating, with a free core tracker and an optional paid tier.

  • Paid independents already exist at consumer prices: StrideFuel at $9.99/mo and GLiPra Pro at $49.99/yr (GLiPra is pre-launch), while clinic-tethered Noom and WW are pitched at $70+/mo and $23+/mo.

  • A scoping review across lifestyle and mental health apps found a median of 70% of users discontinue within the first 100 days, and one study found 46.8% of premium subscribers churn within 90 days, so the category is large but churny even among paying users.

Should you build this?

People already paying a few hundred dollars a month for Ozempic, Wegovy or compounded GLP-1 do pay for help tracking shots, side effects and protein: Glapp reports 100,000+ users, StrideFuel charges $9.99/mo, and GLiPra has announced a $49.99/yr plan (pre-launch). The opening is trust and geography, not features. Rivals hide the price behind a signup quiz, sell only weekly or yearly plans to people unsure they will stay on the drug, lose their logs on a phone switch, and at least one (MeAgain) ships a US-only food database: a single UK reviewer reports being unable to log food and £39.99 down with no refund. That is one review, not a measured outside-US market segment, and no source shows the category generally lacks global food data, so the outside-US thesis is the weakest link and must be tested directly. The hard part is that Glapp already gives away a capable tracker (and GLiPra plans to), so a new app cannot win on price; it has to win on a global food database, cross-device sync, plain monthly billing and clean export, and even then this category loses most users within 100 days.
